TROUPE @ Southern School of Creative Arts

Between 2022 and 2025, I have delighted in directing a select group of teens in a series of weekly drama skill-building sessions (voice, facial expression, movement, silence & stillness), performing from short scripts, and creating group-devised works based on improvisation. We learnt how to present in front of a live audience, whilst exploring through a variety of performance styles, ensuring students are well-versed in performance terminology and concepts. Our Troupe curriculum enabled secondary school-aged students to grow their performance tool kits from term to term, but also enabled confidence and connection through engaging with me, each other and the world of professional theatre through our excursions to a highly diverse  array of productions each year. Troupers also keenly sharpened their analytical and evaluative thinking through attendance at this curated array of live theatrical performances, more often than not also meeting artists and performers involved, participating in live Q&A sessions, or taking a tour of the set, backstage or wardrobe. What an absolute joy!
